The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has notified Nigerians about the illegal financial activities related to NIN.
According to reports, the anti-graft commission has disclosed why Nigerians should refrain from selling their NIN, saying the results can be gravier than they think.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said anybody caught trying to sell his or her NIN will not only be arrested but be made to face criminal charges without room for bail.
See the words of the spokesperson:
“In other words, they risk arrest and prosecution for any act of criminality linked to their NIN whether or not they are directly responsible for such crimes.”
Therefore, the EFFC citizens on the actions to take if they are approached to sell their identity numbers.
Gistongist gathers that the commission urged the public to report anyone seeking to buy their NIN to the nearest office of the EFCC or other law enforcement agencies.
