The Lagos State Government says it will suspend some of the regular activities in schools in the state as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
This was made known by the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, during a visit to some schools in the state to sensitise them on COVID-19.
Speaking to newsmen after the tour of schools with the ministry’s quality assurance team, Mrs Adefisayo explained that activities like morning assembly and sports will be suspended for now.
She promised that the visit will be on a regular basis to schools in the state to assess their level of compliance to the Covid-19 prevention protocols to halt the community spread of the virus, especially at the grassroots.
Among schools visited include; Sango Senior Secondary school, Yewa Junior high School, Dairy Farm Senior Secondary school, District Junior College and Unity Junior College, all in Agege area of Lagos
