The Lagos State Government has assured stakeholders at Apapa Tincan Ports that it would work with them to make things better and identify the road blocks as well as resolve the issue of alleged extortions by task force in the axis.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who stated this during an Inspection and Assessment of Apapa gridlock and Environs said the state government was ready to take over from the Presidential Taskforce to address the issue of extortion among other problems faced by people using the park and promised to escalate it to the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu.
He also promised to meet and work with Stakeholders in Apapa Port which include the Shippers Council, Freight Forewarders, Port terminal operators to make thing better and see how the issue would be resolved in order to improve the ease of doing business in Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the law abiding citizens using the park while noting that there had been a significant improvement on the works on the road construction site from the last time he visited the area.
The Governor also said his visit was aimed at trying to see how to resolve the multifaceted counter accusations to ensure seemless operations at the Apapa Port.
