A carol of nine lessons has been held at the Lagos State House, Alausa Ikeja as part of activities marking the yuletide.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is isolated at home in Marina after contracting Covid-19 and his wife Ibijoke attended the event virtually with the Governor’s wife reading one of the lessons, while the Chief of staff to the Governor, Mr Tayo Ayinde who represented him at the venue read the 9th lesson.
In an address of welcome, the Commissioner for Home affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi noted that the end of the year is a period for sober reflection and gratitude.
Prince Elegushi urged all Lagosians to count their blessings and to appreciate God who has seen them this far amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and other challenges
The Commissioner who urged residents to be hopeful, reminded them of the need to comply with Covid-19 advisories and commiserated with the families of those who have died in the course of the year and prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead
Gistongist gathered that the Carol service which is the 14th edition has as its theme “God Over All”.
