SA President Reprimand His Finance Minister For Zambia, See Why
Against the thought that the South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa will support his own over another, the president takes side with Zambia as he reprimands his finance minister, Tito Mboweni.
What did the Finance Minister do that warranted the president of SA reprimanding him?
Gistongist gathered that Tito Mboweni took to his Twitter page to call out the president of Zambia to explain why he recently sacked Zambia’s Central Bank governor, Dr Denny Kalyalya.
The finance minister blasted the president of Zambia, Edgar Lungu for firing the CBZ governor.
The tweet which few people saw as “Poking his nose” was later deleted by him.
However, he had actually being caught by the president of South Africa.
Reacting, the president rescinded the comment of the finance minister having allegedly inveighed against him.
“President Ramaphosa wishes to assure the government and people of the Republic of Zambia that the unfortunate remarks do not reflect the views of the South African Government and its people” – the presidency said.
While the Zambia’s Information Minister, Dora Siliya said the matter will be handled with diplomacy, the SA government resolved to ensure that such misdoing by the finance minister does not happen again as they keep up their friendship.
