A police officer attached to the Kano State Police Command, Inspector Garba Saleh Rabo, and an official with the Kano State Consumer Protection Council, Jamilu Buhari Alkasim have been rewarded for rejecting N1,000,000 bribe offered to them by fake drug dealers.
Kano Road Traffic Agency Managing Director and acting Managing Director of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Baffa Babba Dan Agundi made this known on Thursday, March 25, during a meeting with the State Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko.
Agundi narrated that the Inspector and official got a tip that expired goods worth billions of Naira were kept in a warehouse, hence the task force team stormed the warehouse, where N1,000,000 was offered as bribe.
They rejected the bribe and recovered the expired goods and the suspects were arrested.
Agundi went on to present the two personnel to the Commissioner, stating that they have done a commendable job by refusing to collect bribe.
The agency commended them and reciprocated by rewarding them.
