The Former Chairman of Pensions Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina has been arrested in the Niger Republic border, dressed in hijab like a woman.
Maina was re-arrested Monday, 30th November 2020 as he is facing 12-count charges based on money laundering, filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The chairman is facing charges for using his firm to launder N2billion naira and used the fund to acquire properties in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Sources revealed that the security operatives at the Niger border spotted a presumed big woman in a black burka wearing a Covid-19 face mask then questions were raised about the person’s shapeless appearance and decided to carry out a thorough search, and in the process, discovered he was a man, Abdulrasheed Maina.
The Nigerian security operatives was on the lookout and immediately alerted their Nigerian counterparts, but it is unclear if he has been returned to Abuja.
