Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has recovered and rejoined his teammates on Monday night after he lost consciousness in the final minute of Sunday’s Serie A game with Atalanta.
The player fell and hit his head on the turf after a Cristian Romero challenge during Napoli’s 4-2 defeat at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
He lost consciousness and was rushed to Bergamo’s Papa Giovanni Hospital and spent the night under observation until Monday night when he was cleared of all tests.
Napoli wrote on their official website, “Victor Osimhen, following the injury with head trauma suffered in the final minutes of Atalanta-Napoli, underwent tests with negative results.”
They also revealed that Dries Mertens could return to training after he just returned from therapy in Belgium.
“Mertens carried out the isokinetic test and personalized work on the pitch and in the gym.
“Dries will consider returning to the group in the coming days,” the statement read.
