Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, was diagnosed with head trauma after a collision in the Series A game yesterday during Napoli’s loss to Atalanta.
Injury, suspension and coronavirus-related concerns have plagued the forward’s debut season with the Italian side.
Just recently the Nigerian international returned from a shoulder injury and his seventh league start.
Victor Osimhen completed two dribbles and fired just one shot for the duration of his parade.
The forward collided with Romero a few minutes before the end of the match and dropped painfully, hitting the back of his head on the pitch before losing consciousness.
Afterwards, the Nigerian was stretched off and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
“Victor Osimhen, following the injury with head trauma suffered in the final minutes of Atalanta-Napoli, underwent tests with negative results,” read a statement from the club website .
“The player will remain in Bergamo until tomorrow under the clinical observation of the blue health manager Raffaele Canonico.” the statement confirmed.
