We cannot fold our arms and watch things fall apart, hence, Lagos and Ogun State Commissioner of Police need to support in combating lingering security crisis in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, LCDA.
These were the words of Hon. Hammed Idowu D Tijani (HID) when he met with security operatives in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Saturday morning at the council secretariat in Ijaiye.
The emergency meeting was to put an end to the activities of miscreants who moved in from Ogun State and those in Lagos causing trouble for residents and citizens in Ojokoro LCDA and it’s environs.
The meeting was well attended by the Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps, the Civil Defence, and all the five Divisional Police Officers in the council.
Issues discussed were modalities to ensure and sustain peace in MAO Junction, Fagba and other areas as it has been a thorn in the flesh of recent.
Arrowheads of the several miscreant’s groups had been identified and necessary actions will henceforth be taken
The council boss in his response to the boundaries challenge that has been the major obstacle preventing the police from carrying out their duties has promised to involve the higher authorities to come to the aide of the council as it is situated in the boundary of Lagos and Ogun State.
“We need the support and synergy of both Lagos State Commissioner of Police and that of Ogun State to see to the end of this security challenge, most especially in MAO Junction Killington, Dalemo in Alakuko, Ajegunle and its environs”, he said.
“The most annoying thing is that our police are really working tirelessly to flush out these miscreants but they usually run down to Ogun State and still have the guts to tell security personnel that they are already in Ogun and this is usually so painful”, he said.
In the same vein, he further used the medium to warn residents against the use of fireworks and bangers this Yuletide season.
He said banger sales and its use are highly prohibited in the council area and its environs.
