The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has paid a visit to the scene of the train crash.
The Governor made this known via his verified Twitter handle on Monday, accompanied by his team to Oshodi, the scene of the accident.
Sanwo-Olu said, “Today, I visited the scene of the accident at Oshodi involving a train and two vehicles in the company of the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi. It is regrettable that this happened on the day stakeholders reached a consensus to close the gates into the arena.
“This is one of the concerns we have raised about commuters’ safety around the area. This accident should strengthen our resolve to prevent a re-occurrence. This is also a clarion call on our people to be safety conscious whenever they need to drive across the rail track.
“If there is a slow movement of vehicles at any railway bypass, we must keep a safe distance from the rail tracks. We have rolled out advocacy on this and we will continue to intensify efforts. The safety of the people is paramount,” the post read.
