Lagos State Governor Suspends Illegally Recruited Staff

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has suspended over 100 staff of the Lagos State Advertising and Signage Agency (LASAA) who were recruited illegally.

The workers are reported to have been engaged between June 2020 and January 2021.

The state government on Monday told them to pick their suspension letters from their respective departments.

The suspension follows an audit exercise conducted in December 2020 after a petition was sent to the Governor and all staff of LASAA was instructed to tender their records for verification.

Sanwo-Olu got furious after by the steady and unapproved increase in the agency’s salary budget and overhead.

Reports also gathered revealed that the staff were allegedly recruited illegally by LASAA Managing Director, Adedamola Docemo.
