Human rights group identified as International Human Rights Protection Forum (IHRPF) has threatened to take disc jockey, Obianuju Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for circulating what the called, misleading reports on the EndSARS protests in Lekki toll gate.
They made this known in a statement signed by the group’s legal adviser, Janet Ihezie.
The group which has its headquarters in Florida, United States stated that DJ Switch’s reports could trigger genocide and war crimes in Nigeria.
Recall that the DJ had witnessed and streamed as armed gunmen fired shots at EndSARS protesters on Tuesday the 20th of October.
Reports had claimed that the DJ said over 70 persons died from the incident.
DJ switch had however come forth to debunk the news stating that at least 15 casualties were recorded.
The human rights group insisted that DJ Switch apologizes to the government and citizens of Nigeria for misleading key decision-makers across the globe.
They added that should she fails to do so, the group won’t hesitate within the next seven days to drag the disc jockey to ICC, Hague, the Netherlands for speculating fake news capable of throwing the country into a state of anarchy.
IHRPF also called on the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU), United States of America, United Kingdom, China, Canada, and other international partners to stand by Nigeria especially during the crisis.
