The federal government is set to meet with state governors and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Thursday over gasoline price problem and tariff.
The Minister of Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige announced the date of the meeting on Monday.
Ngige said, “as for the PMS pricing issue, it’s a work in progress. The governors will debate this on Thursday at the National Economic Council and hopefully, there will be a way out of the situation.”
He further stated that both parties have resolved to give more time to find ways to modify the template to set the price of domestic fuel.
Ngige said the electricity tariff issue’s report has been well received by both parties and the committee was asked to continue working on gray areas and the meeting with union leaders has been postponed until April, after the Easter celebration.
