Bauchi State government have announced they uncovered a total of 396 ghost workers in the state civil service and local government councils.
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service Affairs, Abdon Gin.
He revealed the state discovered these abnormalities due to the panel set up by the state government to verify workers.
He went on to explain to journalist a total of 312 dead persons were also on the payroll of the state government.
Gin, went on to reveal three civil servants were also caught for receiving two salaries from the government and also from the N-Power scheme in the state.
He stated that the panel also discovered on the payroll 83 local government staffs who are not longer in the service but were still actively getting paid by the government monthly, which cost the government N3,546,271.24.
- He stated that all abnormalities were discovered using the Bank verification Number (BVN) and that all the ghost workers have been removed from the system.
